We are seeking an additional folk/classical melody instrumentalist.
Our sound is heavy and complex metal fused with European medieval, folk and middle-eastern instrumentation and melodies. Our current lineup is: guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, bagpipes/winds, and vocals.
Our strongest influences are from European folk metal & neo-medieval music (Korpiklaani, Heidevolk, Saltatio Mortis, In Extremo, Corvus Corax) with additional influence from hard rock & metal bands like Therion, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep and Jethro Tull.
We are primarily interested in a fiddle, violin or viola player but will consider other traditional stringed/drone instruments like hurdy-gurdy or viola de gamba.
PLEASE NOTE: We are NOT looking for additional guitarists at this time.
We typically practice one Sunday a month at Orion Studios in Baltimore, MD. We have occasional pick up practices and online video chat writing sessions. We do our best to work out an amenable schedule but you will be expected to attend every rehearsal.
You must also be willing to dress in medieval/fantasy garb on stage. Garb is NOT required for practices!
We plan to record an EP in October 2017 at Orion. Our debut performance at the Maryland Folk Metal Festival on August 19, 2017, was very well received and we are planning additional bookings after completion of the EP.
If you would like to audition, please send us an email via the CONTACT page. Audition requirements will be to learn one original tune (we’ll provide a recording and chords/notation, if needed) and one cover tune (Wooden Pints, by Korpiklaani). Please also be prepared to provide a recording of your playing (live or studio).
